Daejeong has always been fascinated by the transformation of idea into matter, and matter into experiences for people and their communities. As an architect, Daejeong views the true reward of his work to not be immediate, but slowly unveil itself over time as a project is designed, built, and enjoyed.
Daejeong spends his days at Goody Clancy designing projects and reviewing project teams’ work. He is highly skilled in listening to others, whether that’s his team or the client, and has a keen eye for details. Daejeong is currently working on William & Mary’s Integrated Science Center, Phase 4 (ISC4), which includes interdisciplinary, cutting-edge learning and laboratory spaces. Daejeong has also helped lead the design of the University of Virginia’s Bond House, a sustainable residential-life community named after the former UVA professor and civil rights leader Julian Bond.
Daejeong loves pursuing a great cup of coffee (and the rest of us love watching his daily weigh/grind/pour/wait ritual). On weekends you can find him enjoying a perfect brew or admiring beautiful leatherwork. Or, preferably, both at once.
